Terms of Service

1. The Service

LegendCV provides an AI-powered resume and career platform. The Service currently includes, without limitation: the Resume Builder, ATS Scanner, Cover Letter generator, Job Match analysis, LinkedIn Optimizer, Interview Prep, Career Path AI, Salary Intelligence, LegendCV Academy, the Legend Score, the Legend AI assistant, candidate portfolios, the job tracker, and (where offered) the Recruiter Marketplace. Features may be added, modified, paused or removed at our discretion.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

1. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
2. Accounts are created using email/password or Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.
3. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory or misleading purposes;
• upload content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
• attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, security or billing controls;
• scrape, reverse engineer, decompile or copy any part of the Service;
• use the Service to generate spam, harassment, discriminatory content or malware;
• resell, sublicense or white-label the Service without our prior written consent.

4. AI-Generated Content

1. The Service uses third-party large language models and AI providers to generate, rewrite and score content based on inputs you provide.
2. AI output may contain inaccuracies, omissions or biased phrasing. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing and verifying any AI-generated content before relying on it or sharing it with employers or third parties.
3. LegendCV makes no representation or warranty that AI-generated content will result in interviews, job offers or any specific career outcome.
4. AI-generated outputs across the Service — including but not limited to cover letters, resume rewrites and suggestions, LinkedIn content, interview answers and feedback, career recommendations, and salary insights — must be reviewed, edited and verified by you before being sent to employers, recruiters, regulators or any third party.

4A. Legend Score

1. The Legend Score is a proprietary scoring methodology owned by LegendCV. All rights, title and interest in the Legend Score name, methodology, weightings, tier system, formulas, models and related documentation remain the exclusive property of LegendCV.
2. The Legend Score is intended solely as an informational and educational indicator of your career-profile signals within LegendCV. It is not a credit score, professional assessment, regulated rating or employment recommendation.
3. The Legend Score is generated using a combination of user activity and outputs across the Service, including (without limitation) ATS analysis, job matching, profile and LinkedIn optimization, interview readiness and career growth indicators.
4. The Legend Score does not guarantee any outcome, including but not limited to: employment, interviews, job offers, recruiter responses, salary increases or career advancement. You remain solely responsible for your job applications, career decisions and how you present your Legend Score to third parties.
5. The methodology, component weightings, tier thresholds, scoring scale and underlying models may change over time without notice as the platform evolves. Historical scores may not be directly comparable to scores generated under later versions.
6. You may not reproduce, resell, sublicense, republish in bulk, reverse engineer, derive, mirror or misrepresent the Legend Score, its tiers or its underlying methodology, nor use the Legend Score name or branding in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or certification, without prior written permission from LegendCV. Sharing your own personal Legend Score (for example via your public Legend profile link) for non-commercial career purposes is permitted.

4B. ATS Scores

ATS scores produced by the ATS Scanner are predictive indicators based on heuristics and AI analysis. They are not guarantees that any specific applicant tracking system, recruiter or employer will accept, rank or shortlist your resume. Different ATS platforms use different parsers and scoring logic and may produce different results from the same document.

4C. Job Match Analysis

Job Match scores and recommendations are estimates derived from your inputs and the job description you provide. LegendCV does not represent, act on behalf of, or have any affiliation with employers, recruiters or hiring organisations unless expressly stated. A high Job Match score does not guarantee an interview, offer or any hiring decision.

4D. Salary Intelligence

Salary estimates, ranges and negotiation guidance are informational only and are derived from aggregated market data and AI models. Actual compensation may vary significantly based on location, employer, industry, seniority, market conditions, individual negotiation and other factors. Salary outputs do not constitute financial, tax or employment advice.

4E. Career Path AI

Career Path AI and related recommendations are educational guidance generated by AI. LegendCV does not provide regulated career counselling, financial, legal, tax, immigration or visa advice. For decisions in any of these areas you should consult an appropriately qualified professional in your jurisdiction.

4F. LegendCV Academy

Academy lessons, guides, quizzes and learning tracks are provided for educational purposes only. Completion of any Academy track, quiz or learning certificate is an internal LegendCV acknowledgement of progress and does not create or confer any professional qualification, licence, accreditation or regulated certification.

4G. Recruiter Marketplace

1. Where LegendCV offers recruiter-facing tools or a Recruiter Marketplace, recruiters and employers ("Recruiter Users") must comply with all applicable laws, including data protection, equal opportunity and anti-discrimination laws.
2. Recruiter Users must respect candidate privacy, only contact candidates for legitimate roles, only post genuine vacancies that meet our job-posting standards, and must not send spam, harassing or misleading messages. We may suspend or remove Recruiter Users who breach these standards.
3. Candidates may control their visibility to Recruiter Users from their profile. LegendCV is not a party to any employment, agency or contractor relationship between candidates and Recruiter Users.

5. User Content and Resume Data

1. You retain ownership of the personal information, resume content, employment history and documents you upload ("User Content").
2. You grant LegendCV a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit and display User Content solely to operate, secure and improve the Service for you.
3. You confirm that you have all necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

6. Subscriptions, Billing and Refunds

1. Paid plans are billed through Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. Pricing is shown on www.legendcv.com/pricing and may be presented in GBP, EUR or USD.
2. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account or via the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
3. 14-day cooling-off period (UK / EU consumers): if you purchase a subscription as a consumer, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, provided you have not made substantial use of paid features. After the cooling-off period, fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
4. We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice; changes will not affect the current paid period.
5. Failed payments may result in suspension or downgrade of paid features. Applicable VAT or sales taxes may be added at checkout.

7. Intellectual Property

1. The Service, including the LegendCV name, logo, templates, software, designs, prompts and documentation, is owned by LegendCV or its licensors and protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.
2. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal job-search or professional career purposes in accordance with these Terms.
3. Resume templates may be used within finished resumes you export; the underlying template files, design system and code may not be redistributed.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Supabase (database, storage and authentication infrastructure), Google (OAuth sign-in), Stripe(payments), Cloudflare (CDN, DNS and security/WAF), and Zoho Mail(transactional and support email). Your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for outages or failures of third-party providers.

9. Privacy

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and is governed by the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

10. Suspension and Termination

1. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, abuse the Service, or create legal, security or operational risk for LegendCV or other users.
2. You may close your account at any time from your profile settings. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately; data retention is governed by the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LegendCV disclaims all warranties (express or implied), including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI output, uninterrupted availability, and freedom from errors.

12. Limitation of Liability

1. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
2. Subject to clause 12.1, LegendCV's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to LegendCV in that period, or (b) £100.
3. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, loss of employment opportunity, loss of earnings, or loss of data.
4. Without limiting clauses 4 and 4A–4G, to the maximum extent permitted by law LegendCV is not liable for any loss, damage or outcome arising from: (a) AI-generated outputs (including cover letters, resume rewrites, LinkedIn content, interview answers and career or salary recommendations); (b) ATS scores, Job Match scores, Legend Score values or tier changes; (c) interview preparation content, including practice questions, sample answers and feedback; (d) salary insights, ranges or negotiation guidance; (e) Career Path AI recommendations; or (f) Academy educational materials. You acknowledge that all such outputs require your independent review and judgement before use.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold LegendCV harmless from claims, damages, liabilities and reasonable legal costs arising from your User Content, your use of AI-generated content, or your breach of these Terms.

14. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence where required by local law.
